Chennai Rail Museum


Chennai Rail Museum is the place where we can know lot about railways, train and coaches and Intergral coach factory.  It was opened by Nitish Kumar on 31 March 2002 on the furnishing division of ICF premises.  Mostly Rail Museum visited by family especially with children.  Museum covers Toy Train, scratchyard park and children's park which attracted the children with joy and fun.   Placing of Heritage Train Engine and Locomotives used earlier in Railways since British period, documentation of  steam locomotives working. Most of the coaches in the Museum are accessible to visitors.  You can take photography with the engine and coaches.  There is an entry fee of INR50 for Adult and INR25 for Children inclusive of Toy Train, Guest drink and visiting the entire museum.

There are 150 photographs which shows the evolution of Integral Coach Factory.  The Rail Museum has Coach Theme based Restaurant which offers different varieties of cuisine and an ambience was great offered with delicious food.  The nearest metro station is Anna nagar and nearest bus stop is Villivakkam bus stand.  It's completely a family friendly atmosphere.  Do visit and enjoy with your family and know our Indian Railways.
